I recently consulted on the finishes for a kitchen remodel and half bath addition in Sullivan’s Gulch. The refrigerator was recessed to add more floor space and a half bath was added by absorbing space from the oversized dining room. We selected a gray tile to replace the Formica countertop and removed the Pergo floors and installed cork. It turned out beautifully and it was great to work with my clients again.
Other SBaird Design projects at the house include: color selection throughout the house, ebonizing the wood floors, choosing tile for the fireplace, and selecting outdoor paint colors. We also finished the basement: added a full bath, painted the walls, ceiling, and cross beams with Pratt & Lambert Seed Pearl, selected cork floors, and installed chocolate brown sliding doors.
I love the juxtaposition of sleek, minimal interiors in an old home.
SBaird Design is proud to announce we are now offering home staging services. We specialize in staging vacant mid century and contemporary homes on the real estate market. SBaird Design places sparse, iconic, mid century furniture, art, and accessories. By staging homes with tasteful, minimal furnishings, the features of the home become prominent rather than the staging.
In addition to staging vacant homes, SBaird Design also stages occupied homes, and offers remodel consultation, staging consultation, color consultation, and advice à la distance.

Aesthete, talented designer, and meticulous craftsman, Delaney Kelly continues to blow me away with his work. His latest project – a beautiful black walnut drip stand he designed for Portland’s own Clive Coffee – is now in production! You can purchase the stunning pourover stand (with the pourover cone + mug by Pigeon Toe Ceramics) here.
SBaird Design couldn’t be more thrilled for or impressed by our friend and occasional collaborator.
