Interior design of a SW Portland home

SBaird Design chose the window treatments throughout the home mainly grass window shades lined, had  oak floors installed in the main living area and the upstairs office, refaced the fireplace in the sitting room, remodeled the master bath and helped to define the wall colors.

Apartment Therapy – Thank you!

http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/sf/house-tours/aarons-minimal-portland-loft-house-tour-115081

check out the link with new photos of aaron’s loft that sbaird design reconstructed, after sbaird real estate represented him in his real estate transaction. possibly my favorite part of being a realtor and designer, is when it aligns into a continued design relationship after the sale is completed. when we first toured the loft and saw through the decor of the former owners we knew that it could be a raw space that just needed new floors, new paint, cabinets for clothing and storage and of course, the minimalist furniture to compliment it all. oregon home featured it on their cover in may of 2009, and now apartment therapy has picked up the story and made it their own. their interview is sweet, and personal…i love the way that this turned out.

Many of my clients have asked recently about the techniques of restoring older windows, this article from Old House Journal explains the process well.

Portland Loft – Now

While many of you may have followed the rebirth of this loft in the Pearl in NW Portland, with the project nearing completion we wanted to share the photos of what has been a long and enjoyable process. Knowing that the carpet needed removing, flooring installed, new window treatments, rugs, upholstery, furniture, all new paint and built in storage seemed like a huge undertaking but it was one of our most enjoyable and seamless projects to date.
